Math Workshop

This week we are leaning about 2D and 3D shapes. Kindergarten is a good age to start teaching the difference between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes.

Children are learning that 3D shapes are solid, not flat. They have vertices, edge, and faces.

Here are some online resources you can use with your children at home.

Class Writing Center

Kindergarten writing goes from tracing the ABCs and culminating in higher level thinking skills like forming, organizing, and expressing complete thoughts. During our writing time the children have lots of different tools that they use to express and share an idea.

Field Trip to Downtown Aquarium

Dear Parent Volunteers,
Our recent class trip to the Downtown Aquarium was a smashing success and I could not have done it without you all. Not only was it wonderful to have an extra pair of hands to help look after the students but your ability to keep them all interested in the Aquarium.
In art class some of the students even drew pictures of the field trip, with parent volunteers as an integral part of our group, I will be attaching those drawings in my next post.

Thanks again for all of your hard work on the day!
